Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S4X pseudogene 8 (RPS4XP8) is a processed pseudogene related to ribosomal protein S4, X-linked (RPS4X), a component of the small ribosomal subunit (40S) involved in translation. RPS4XP8 does not encode a functional protein and has no known biological function or clinical relevance. It is one of many genomic copies derived from retrotransposition or duplication of the parent ribosomal protein gene; such pseudogenes are common in the human genome and typically lack regulatory or protein-coding ability.
