Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S6 kinase 3 (RPS6KA3) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth, proliferation, survival, and metabolism. It is activated downstream of the MAPK/ERK signaling cascade and phosphorylates various substrates, including ribosomal protein S6 (rpS6) and transcription factors like CREB. Mutations in RPS6KA3 are associated with Coffin-Lowry syndrome, and aberrant activation or inhibition can contribute to tumorigenesis or metabolic syndromes.
