Overview

Ribosomal protein S6 kinase C1 (RPS6KC1) is a serine/threonine kinase and member of the S6 kinase protein family. It is implicated in intracellular signaling, notably by interacting with sphingosine kinase and phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate, linking it to sphingosine 1-phosphate-mediated signaling, a pathway involved in cell migration, survival, and proliferation. Additionally, RPS6KC1 may transport peroxiredoxin-3 to mitochondria, influencing mitochondrial function and oxidative stress responses.
