Ribosomal protein S6 pseudogene 21 (RPS6P21) is a processed pseudogene that shares sequence similarity to the ribosomal protein S6 gene, a component of the 40S subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome, but does not produce a functional protein. Like other processed pseudogenes, RPS6P21 is considered a non-coding genomic sequence, and there is currently no evidence of protein expression, therapeutic relevance, disease association, or biomarker utility for this gene. While some pseudogenes can regulate their parental genes or participate in gene expression regulation, there are no specific functional or clinical roles attributed to RPS6P21 in the current scientific literature.
