Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S7 pseudogene 6 (RPS7P6) is a processed pseudogene derived from the functional *RPS7* gene, which encodes a component of the eukaryotic 40S ribosomal small subunit[1][5]. Like other ribosomal protein pseudogenes, it does not encode a functional protein and is generally considered nonfunctional, although recent studies recognize that some pseudogenes can generate transcripts with potential regulatory roles; however, no such function has been demonstrated for RPS7P6[5]. Therefore, it is not considered a therapeutic target or biologically active molecule.
