Overview

Ribosomal protein SA pseudogene 13 (RPSAP13) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein SA (RPSA) gene in humans. It does not encode a functional protein. The parent gene, RPSA, codes for a ribosomal protein with additional functions as a laminin receptor and is involved in relevant pathological processes such as cancer metastasis, infection, and prion diseases. However, RPSAP13, as a pseudogene, is not known to play a direct biological role and is not considered a therapeutic target or biomarker. There is no evidence of disease relevance, drug interactions, or safety concerns related to this pseudogene.
