Ribosomal protein SA pseudogene 60 (RPSAP60) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein SA gene (RPSA)[1][5][7]. Pseudogenes are non-functional genomic elements that resemble functional genes but do not encode active proteins. RPSAP60 shares sequence similarity with RPSA but contains mutations or sequence alterations that prevent its translation into a functional protein. There is no evidence that RPSAP60 contributes to any biological process or disease phenotype, nor is it a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other protein target. The biological relevance of RPSAP60 is limited to its use as a genetic marker in certain genomic studies, but it plays no known role in physiology or pathogenesis[5][7].
