Ribosomal protein SA pseudogene 62 (RPSAP62) is a human pseudogene related to the functional ribosomal protein SA (RPSA) gene. RPSA encodes a multifunctional protein, also known as the 37 kDa laminin receptor precursor or 67 kDa laminin receptor, which is involved in ribosome function, cell adhesion, and cancer progression[9][5][7]. RPSAP62 itself, however, is classified as a pseudogene and is not believed to produce an active protein product or play a direct biological role[3][1]. It does not act as a therapeutic target, nor is it implicated in disease or drug response, and it is not included in molecular classification schemas for disease[3].
