Ribosomal protein SA pseudogene 69 (RPSAP69) is part of a large family of pseudogenes derived from the ribosomal protein SA gene (RPSA). RPSA encodes a multifunctional protein involved in ribosome assembly and cell surface laminin receptor activity, but RPSAP69 itself does not encode a functional protein and is considered a processed pseudogene. There is no evidence for its involvement in biological processes, drug interaction, clinical biomarker use, or disease association. Unlike some pseudogenes such as RPSAP52 that may regulate parental gene expression as noncoding RNAs in cancer and development, RPSAP69 lacks known regulatory or functional properties. It is not considered a valid therapeutic target, and its mention as such may result from confusion with its parent gene or functional pseudogenes. If structured data for true therapeutic targets is required, RPSAP69 should be excluded unless further research discovers specific noncoding RNA-mediated activity analogous to that found for RPSAP52; as of now, that evidence is absent.
