Ribosomal S6 kinase alpha-1 (RPS6KA1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that belongs to the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family. It phosphorylates a variety of substrates, including components of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, influencing cell growth, survival, differentiation, and motility. Alterations in RPS6KA1 are associated with Coffin-Lowry Syndrome and Tuberous Sclerosis, and it is implicated in insulin resistance.
