Overview

RIMS-binding protein 3C (RIMBP3C) is a protein encoded by the RIMBP3C gene. It is a probable component of the manchette, a microtubule-based structure that plays a key role in sperm head morphogenesis during the late stages of sperm development. The protein is selectively expressed in the seminiferous ducts of the testis, consistent with its specialized role in male germ cell maturation. RIMBP3C is predicted to participate in processes like fertilization and spermatid development, although the molecular mechanisms and broader biological functions remain incompletely characterized. There is no compelling evidence in current literature that RIMBP3C functions as a typical drug target, nor that it has established roles in major diseases outside of chromosomal syndromes and possibly male infertility.
