There is no evidence it encodes a functional protein, nor is it associated with known biological functions or disease mechanisms. RNF10P1 is not considered a protein-coding target, receptor, enzyme, or otherwise actionable molecule in therapy or research. Any reference to it as a target for drug discovery or as a functional receptor/protein is likely incorrect; the true functional gene is RNF10, not the pseudogene RNF10P1. It should not be confused with Ring finger protein 10 (RNF10), which is a separate protein-coding gene with putative roles in neuronal signaling, synaptonuclear trafficking, and ubiquitin-mediated processes.
