Overview

Ring finger protein 11 pseudogene 1 (RNF11P1) is a human pseudogene related to the parent gene RNF11, which encodes a RING-H2 finger motif protein involved in protein-protein interactions and cellular signaling[3][1]. Unlike its protein-coding counterpart, RNF11P1 does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes are DNA segments similar to functional genes but typically nonfunctional due to mutations or absence of regulatory sequences[6]. Although some pseudogenes can regulate gene expression through RNA-mediated mechanisms, the specific function, if any, of RNF11P1 in biology or disease remains undetermined[2]. RNF11P1 is not a therapeutic target nor used as a biomarker, and no drugs interact with it.
