ring finger protein 138 pseudogene 1 (RNF138P1) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 5. It is a non-functional genomic sequence similar to the coding gene RNF138, which encodes an E3 ubiquitin protein ligase. RNF138P1 does not produce a functional protein product and therefore does not serve as a therapeutic target or have established biological or pathological roles. RNF138P1 is distinct from the functional gene RNF138 (ring finger protein 138), which does encode a protein with reported biological activity. As a pseudogene, RNF138P1 is not considered a direct target for pharmacological intervention, nor does it participate in classic molecular families like receptors, enzymes, or transporters.
