Ring finger protein 24 (RNF24) is an integral membrane protein characterized by a RING-type zinc finger domain, primarily involved in regulating the intracellular trafficking of transient receptor potential cation channel (TRPC) family members. RNF24 binds TRPC proteins and may influence their cellular localization and plasma membrane insertion. Its RING finger motif belongs to a structural family implicated in protein-protein interactions and, often, ubiquitination mediated by E3 ligases. Although present in many tissues and predicted to localize to the Golgi apparatus, the detailed physiological and pathophysiological roles of RNF24 in humans are not yet well characterized. No direct associations with major diseases or approved drugs targeting RNF24 are established as of current evidence.[2][8][10][11][12]
