RN7SK pseudogene 101 is a putative pseudogene related to the functional 7SK small nuclear RNA gene (RN7SK), which is a noncoding RNA found in primate and other metazoan genomes[3]. Unlike the functional RN7SK, which plays a key role in regulating transcriptional elongation by RNA polymerase II and maintaining cell cycle gene expression, RN7SKP101 is not believed to have an active biological function and does not encode a functional protein or RNA product[3]. No evidence exists that RN7SKP101 serves as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical drug target, nor does it appear directly implicated in disease or therapeutic mechanisms based on current genomic and molecular databases[3].
