Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 120 (RN7SKP120) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene. It is one of many genomic loci that are unprocessed/processed vestiges of the parental RN7SK gene, which encodes a small nuclear RNA involved in regulation of transcription elongation by RNA Polymerase II through sequestration of P-TEFb[2][3][4][6]. There are more than 1,000 such pseudogenes related to small nuclear RNA genes in the human genome, most presumed to be unexpressed and non-functional[1]. RN7SKP120 is not a functional gene, does not produce a product, is not classified as a receptor or other drug target, and currently lacks evidence for a biological or pathological role in disease[4].
