The parent gene, RN7SK, is a non-coding RNA that regulates transcription by modulating the positive transcription elongation factor P-TEFb, but pseudogenes such as RN7SKP144 are not known to produce functional RNA or protein and do not appear to participate in biological processes, disease links, or drug interactions[1][2][4]. RN7SKP144 is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it represents a nonfunctional copy of the functional RN7SK gene[2][4]. There is no evidence that RN7SKP144 encodes a functional receptor, protein, or RNA, nor is it implicated as a drug target or biomarker[2][4].
