Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically lack the ability to encode functional proteins or RNAs. RN7SKP207 does not produce a product with known biological activity and is not considered a therapeutic target or involved in disease processes[3][5]. The functional RN7SK small nuclear RNA (not RN7SKP207) plays important roles in the regulation of RNA polymerase II pausing and transcription, especially during cell differentiation and cell cycle control, but pseudogene 207 itself does not share these biological functions[1][2][3].
