Pseudogenes are typically nonfunctional segments of genomic DNA that resemble functional genes but do not encode functional gene products. There is no evidence that RN7SKP209 is transcribed into a functional RNA or that it participates in any known biological processes, disease mechanisms, or serves as a therapeutic target.\n\nRN7SKP209 should not be confused with RN7SK, which encodes 7SK small nuclear RNA—a regulatory noncoding RNA with important roles in transcription control and neuronal development[1][2][3]. These biological functions are specific to the functional 7SK RNA, not to any pseudogene in the RN7SK family such as RN7SKP209.
