RN7SK pseudogene 223 is a pseudogene derived from the 7SK small nuclear RNA gene (RN7SK)[5][2]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of necessary regulatory context. RN7SKP223 has sequence similarity to the functional 7SK RNA gene, which is involved in negative regulation of transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II through interaction with the positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb)[4][1]. However, RN7SKP223 itself does not encode a functional RNA and is not implicated in any known biological processes, molecular pathways, or diseases, nor is it listed as a drug target or biomarker. Its designation as a pseudogene means it is generally excluded from therapeutic target lists.
