RN7SK pseudogene 25 (RN7SKP25) is a predicted pseudogene in the human genome, identified based on sequence similarity to the functional RN7SK gene, which encodes a highly conserved small nuclear RNA involved in regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription elongation through its interaction with the 7SK snRNP complex. The functional RN7SK RNA plays important roles in transcriptional regulation and cellular differentiation, but as a pseudogene, RN7SKP25 is not known to be transcribed or to have any biological function or disease association. There are no known drugs, mechanisms of action, or recognized biomarker roles for RN7SKP25. It is a pseudogene, not a functional gene product, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or recognized druggable target. It should not be confused with RN7SK (the canonical small nuclear RNA 7SK), which does have well-characterized biological roles. There is no current evidence of RN7SKP25 playing any direct biological, mechanistic, or therapeutic role.
