RN7SK pseudogene 26 (RN7SKP26) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome[3]. It is a non-coding RNA that resembles the RN7SK gene, which is known to encode the 7SK small nuclear RNA involved in regulation of transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II as part of the 7SK snRNP complex[4]. However, as a pseudogene, RN7SKP26 is generally regarded as non-functional and not known to produce a functional transcript or protein product[3]. The functional studies and regulatory activities described in the literature pertain to the parent gene RN7SK—not to pseudogenes such as RN7SKP26[1][2][4]. Therefore, RN7SKP26 is not considered a therapeutic target, is not assigned to a protein or receptor family, and no biological, disease, or pharmacologic roles have been identified for it.
