RN7SK pseudogene 290 (RN7SKP290) is a predicted noncoding RNA pseudogene annotated as one of many 7SK small nuclear RNA pseudogenes in the human genome. Pseudogenes such as RN7SKP290 typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events, retain sequence similarity to their parent functional genes (in this case, RN7SK, which encodes 7SK small nuclear RNA), but do not produce functional RNAs or proteins. There is no evidence in current literature that RN7SKP290 is expressed, has biological function, or is relevant in human disease. All known regulatory, transcriptional, and disease associations for 7SK RNA pertain to the functional RN7SK gene and its product[1][4][5]. Pseudogenes generally lack the necessary regulatory sequences for expression and function, and RN7SKP290 is not recognized as a canonical molecular target or biomarker in basic or translational biomedical research.
