Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 30 (RN7SKP30) is a predicted pseudogene that resembles the small nuclear RNA 7SK gene (RN7SK), but does not code for a functional product. Pseudogenes such as RN7SKP30 are generally considered non-functional copies or remnants of other RNA genes; they are typically not transcribed into stable or functional RNA, nor known to act as therapeutic targets. The functional 7SK snRNA (RN7SK) itself acts as a scaffold for the 7SK small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex, regulating RNA polymerase II transcription elongation and cellular differentiation, but these activities are not ascribed to RN7SKP30[4][5]. No therapeutic relevance, interacting drugs, or disease roles are currently attributed to RN7SKP30, and it is not considered a valid drug target. RN7SKP30 refers to a pseudogene, not the functional RN7SK small nuclear RNA. There may be confusion with RN7SK, which is a well-described noncoding RNA with roles in transcriptional regulation[1][3][4]. No evidence suggests RN7SKP30 codes for a protein, acts as a receptor, enzyme, or other drug target, or that it has any clinically validated function or role in disease. RN7SK pseudogene 30 is a non-functional RNA pseudogene, not a therapeutic target, and should not be conflated with the active RN7SK small nuclear RNA.
