Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 32 (RN7SKP32) is annotated as a pseudogene related to the RN7SK small nuclear RNA (7SK snRNA) gene family. Unlike the functional RN7SK gene, which encodes a non-coding RNA involved in the regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription elongation, pseudogenes such as RN7SKP32 are typically regarded as non-functional genomic DNA sequences that arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and generally do not produce functional RNA or protein products. There is no current evidence indicating that RN7SKP32 encodes a functional transcript or has a role as a therapeutic target, molecular marker, or pharmacological receptor. Pseudogenes are usually not considered in drug target research and lack characterized molecular or clinical functions. The *functional* RN7SK gene (not the pseudogene) regulates transcriptional elongation by sequestering P-TEFb, thus modulating cell cycle genes, differentiation, and responses to certain stresses. RN7SKP32 is *not* the same as the active RN7SK gene or 7SK snRNA, and no evidence links RN7SKP32 to any biological function, pharmacology, or disease mechanism. RN7SKP32 is a pseudogene with no established functional, biological, or therapeutic relevance and is not a valid target for pharmacological or biomarker applications.
