RN7SK pseudogene 4 (RN7SKP4) represents a nonfunctional pseudogene related to the RN7SK gene, which encodes the 7SK small nuclear RNA. While RN7SK snRNA itself is essential for the regulation of transcription elongation (especially by sequestration of positive transcription elongation factor b, P-TEFb), cell differentiation, and immune cell function[1][2][3], RN7SKP4 does not produce a functional product and is not considered a valid therapeutic target. Most references to “RN7SKP4” in the literature appear to result from database annotations rather than experimental evidence. Any functional and disease associations in scientific literature are attributable to the parental RN7SK gene/RNA—not this pseudogene.
