RN7SK pseudogene 40 (RN7SKP40)

Target
RN7SKP40
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Noncoding RNA (pseudogenic form)
01

Overview

RN7SKP40, also known as RN7SK pseudogene 40, is a noncoding RNA pseudogene related to the functional RN7SK gene. Pseudogenes like RN7SKP40 typically do not produce functional RNA products nor do they encode proteins, and are not implicated as therapeutic drug targets. In contrast, the functional RN7SK gene encodes the RNA component of the 7SK small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex, which regulates transcriptional elongation by RNA polymerase II and is involved in control of cell proliferation and differentiation[3][4]. No biological, pharmacological, or clinical roles are assigned to RN7SKP40 itself.
