Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 42 (RN7SKP42) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene in the human genome, sharing sequence similarity with the 7SK small nuclear RNA gene (RN7SK). Unlike the parent 7SK RNA, which regulates the activity of the positive transcription elongation factor P-TEFb and plays a key role in transcriptional control in human cells[1], RN7SKP42 does not produce a functional transcript or protein and currently has no known biological function, clinical significance, or role as a therapeutic target[2][3][4].
