RN7SK pseudogene 6 is a human processed pseudogene derived from the 7SK small nuclear RNA gene family. Like most pseudogenes, it does not encode a functional protein product. While many pseudogenes are traditionally considered non-functional genomic elements, in some cases pseudogenes have been shown to have regulatory roles, such as by generating regulatory non-coding RNAs or modulating the expression of related genes through sequence similarity. However, no specific function, disease association, or therapeutic relevance has been established for RN7SKP6. Its primary molecular classification is as a non-coding RNA pseudogene, likely formed through retrotransposition, and it resides on chromosome 13.
