RN7SK pseudogene 7 (RN7SKP7)

Target
RN7SKP7
Molecular classification
Other, pseudogene, noncoding RNA family
01

Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 7 (RN7SKP7) is a nonfunctional genomic remnant related to the 7SK small nuclear RNA gene. Unlike the functional RN7SK, which scaffolds the 7SK snRNP and regulates transcription elongation by modulating RNA polymerase II activity[1][2][3], RN7SKP7 is classified as a pseudogene, with no evidence of biological activity, protein-coding potential, or utility as a therapeutic target. The functional RN7SK noncoding RNA plays important roles in cell cycle regulation and differentiation, but pseudogenes like RN7SKP7 are not known to participate in these processes[3][4]. If you are interested in the functional target, you should reference RNA, 7SK small nuclear RNA (RN7SK), not the pseudogene RN7SKP7[1][2][3].
