Overview

RN7SK pseudogene 86 is a human gene classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic sequence similar to the functional non-coding RNA gene RN7SK, but is not believed to produce a functional RNA molecule or protein product. Pseudogenes such as RN7SKP86 arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and generally lack intrinsic biological activity. There is currently no evidence that RN7SKP86 is expressed, involved in disease, or considered a therapeutic target. Its functional ancestor, RN7SK, is a non-coding RNA that plays a key role in regulating transcriptional elongation by RNA polymerase II, but RN7SKP86 does not share these biological properties. RN7SKP86 is not equivalent to RN7SK small nuclear RNA or its biologically active ribonucleoprotein complex. All major functions, roles in transcription regulation, and biological activities refer to RN7SK, not RN7SKP86. The presence of "pseudogene" in the canonical name indicates lack of biological function and therapeutic relevance. No aliases, drug interactions, safety issues, or disease roles are attributable to RN7SKP86. If structured or druggable target information is sought, the correct entity is RN7SK (7SK small nuclear RNA), not this pseudogene.
