RN7SK pseudogene 92 (RN7SKP92) is one of many processed pseudogenes derived from the *RN7SK* gene, which encodes 7SK small nuclear RNA (7SK snRNA). While *functional RN7SK* is a ubiquitous noncoding RNA (~330 nucleotides), essential for the negative regulation of transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II through sequestration and inactivation of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb)[1][2][3], *pseudogenes* like RN7SKP92 lack transcriptional activity and do not encode functional RNA products. There is no evidence for a physiological or pathological role of RN7SKP92, no indication it is a protein or functional RNA, and no data supporting its action as a drug or diagnostic target. Almost all biological or therapeutic interest in this family focuses on the **functional 7SK snRNA** (product of RN7SK, not RN7SKP92), which regulates transcription, controls immune polarization, and can be dysregulated in cancer and immune conditions[1][2][3]. RN7SKP92 is, therefore, not a receptor, enzyme, or other canonical drug target, but a genomic relic resulting from ancestral copying events.
