Overview

RNU6-616P is a pseudogene of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family. U6 snRNA is normally an essential component of the spliceosome, driving the splicing of pre-mRNA through its catalytic and structural RNA functions. However, pseudogenes such as RNU6-616P are genomic copies or variants of snRNA genes that do not encode functional RNA and are not actively involved in splicing or other cellular processes. These pseudogenes often arise through duplication or retrotransposition, and the presence of direct repeats or sequence rearrangements confirm they are not expressed or functional. As such, RNU6-616P is not considered a therapeutic target, receptor, or enzyme, nor does it participate in any known biological pathways or disease mechanisms. It is a pseudogene, not a functional molecular target, and should not be classified with typical druggable targets (e.g., receptor, enzyme, transporter). There is no biological activity, drug interaction, disease, or biomarker relevance associated with RNU6-616P.
