Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, 5S ribosomal pseudogene 470 (RNA5SP470) is a **pseudogene** in the human genome, annotated in GeneCards, NCBI Gene, and Biogps as a non-functional, duplicated copy of a 5S ribosomal RNA gene[1][2][4]. Unlike the active 5S ribosomal RNA genes responsible for a key structural and regulatory role in the ribosome[3][5][7], RNA5SP470 does not encode a functional RNA or protein. Pseudogenes such as RNA5SP470 develop either through gene duplication or retrotransposition, but mutations or lack of regulatory elements render them non-functional[6]. There is no evidence that RNA5SP470 has regulatory roles, is expressed, or is linked to disease or drug interaction. Thus, it is not considered a true druggable or therapeutic target and does not have clinical or molecular significance outside its role as a genomic pseudogene annotation.
None known (as it is not a functional protein/RNA target)
