The 7SL RNA is normally a component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, a ribonucleoprotein involved in targeting secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotes[1][3]. However, RN7SL106P itself is a truncated, non-functional copy (pseudogene) of the 7SL RNA and is not expressed as a functional RNA or protein[4][5][6]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL106P arise from reverse transcription and genomic integration of RNA copies and do not encode active roles in cellular biology[4][5]. They are not considered receptors, enzymes, or viable drug targets.
