Overview

RN7SL107P is a noncoding RNA pseudogene found on chromosome 8 (81,525,779-81,526,061, reverse strand)[2]. It represents a genomic sequence derived from the 7SL RNA gene, but it is truncated and does not produce functional RNA or protein products; pseudogenes like RN7SL107P typically arise through retrotransposition and are structurally similar to their parent genes, but lack biological activity[5]. Only a handful of 7SL RNA-like genes produce functional RNAs for the SRP complex, while hundreds of pseudogenes exist in the human genome; these pseudogenes are not involved in SRP-mediated protein targeting or translation regulation, and have no established function, disease association, or druggability[2][5]. If your goal is structured pharmacological or disease-relevant data, RN7SL107P should generally be excluded in favor of the functional SRP RNA gene (RN7SL1), which is responsible for key cellular processes[1][3]. RN7SL107P is not a receptor, transporter, enzyme, or transcription factor.
