Pseudogenes like RN7SL143P are typically non-functional genomic elements that resemble known genes but lack coding potential due to mutations, truncations, or other inactivating events[1][5]. Most 7SL RNA pseudogenes, including RN7SL143P, are considered transcriptionally inactive and do not produce functional transcripts or proteins[1][5]. As a result, they are not considered drug targets or therapeutic receptors, and there is no evidence for their involvement in drug interaction, disease processes, or biomarker development[1][4][5][6]. There is also no evidence for any physiological function or clinical significance currently attributed to RN7SL143P specifically. RN7SL143P belongs to a large family of 7SL RNA pseudogenes that originated from retrotransposition events of the functional 7SL RNA gene[5].
