RN7SL203P is a human pseudogene—a DNA sequence similar to the functional 7SL RNA gene but which does not encode a functional RNA product. The 7SL RNA is an essential noncoding RNA within the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex that guides translating ribosomes to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane for protein secretion[1][3]. The vast majority of 7SL-related sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes, believed to arise from the reverse transcription and reintegration of 7SL RNA itself[5][6]. Pseudogenes are truncated versions and generally lack transcription or biological activity. Only a few copies of 7SL RNA gene are functionally expressed, while hundreds of pseudogenes exist[5][6]. RN7SL203P is designated based on its genomic locus and is not associated with any known disease, biological pathways, or drug interactions. It should not be listed as a therapeutic target.
