Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 223, pseudogene (RN7SL223P) is a pseudogene derived from duplication or mutation of the functional 7SL RNA gene, which is itself a non-coding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex involved in targeting proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[5][6]. The majority of 7SL RNA-related sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes and do not produce functional RNA; they are the result of the reverse flow of information from cytoplasmic 7SL RNA back into genomic DNA[1][3]. RN7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL223P, lack the ability to perform the canonical role of 7SL RNA in protein targeting and translocation, and there is no evidence they function as receptors, enzymes, or other typical drug targets[1][3]. There is also no evidence or suggestion in the scientific literature that RN7SL223P serves as a therapeutic target, has known interacting drugs, or is relevant as a biomarker or in disease pathways[2][4].
