In humans, numerous 7SL RNA-related pseudogenes exist throughout the genome, the result of reverse transcription and integration events but generally lacking protein-coding capacity or clear biological activity[4][7]. Functional 7SL RNA is crucial for SRP activity, but RN7SL262P is a truncated, likely non-functional derivative. Some pseudogene transcripts participate in cellular regulation through competing for microRNA binding or, less commonly, generating regulatory small RNAs, but no specific function or disease linkage has been established for RN7SL262P itself[5][8].
