RN7SL270P is a processed pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA gene, encoding a noncoding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). The original 7SL RNA is essential for SRP-mediated targeting of nascent proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane in eukaryotes[1][3][5]. 7SL pseudogenes, like RN7SL270P, are generated by retrotransposition events and are scattered throughout the genome as truncated or mutated copies of the parental 7SL RNA gene; they lack the promoter and regulatory sequences necessary for functional transcription[1]. While most pseudogenes are nonfunctional, some have been reported to regulate gene expression by acting as competing endogenous RNAs or via antisense RNA effects in other gene families, but there are no established biological or clinical roles for RN7SL270P[2][3]. RN7SL pseudogenes are best described as genomic fossils without protein-coding potential or receptor activity, and the inclusion of RN7SL270P as a therapeutic target or receptor is scientifically incorrect[1][2][5].
