RN7SL279P is a pseudogene copy of 7SL RNA (signal recognition particle RNA) located in the human genome[6][3][5]. The functional 7SL RNA is an essential part of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, which is required for directing nascent proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotes, but pseudogene copies such as RN7SL279P do not yield a functional RNA product[1][3][5]. Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL279P, appear to originate from the reverse flow of genetic information, leading to truncated and inactivated RNA copies interspersed throughout the genome[3][5]. There is no evidence this pseudogene is transcribed or has any coding or regulatory biological function in human cells[3][5][6]. In summary, RN7SL279P is a non-functional pseudogene; it is not a druggable or therapeutic target and has no documented roles in disease, therapy, or clinical biomarker use[3][5][6][8].
