Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 310, pseudogene (RN7SL310P) is a human pseudogene derived from sequences similar to the 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][5]. The majority of 7SL-like sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes resulting from the integration of 7SL RNA back into the DNA, often truncated and non-functional[3][5]. RN7SL310P is classified as a processed pseudogene and does not encode a functional product[1][3]. There is no evidence that RN7SL310P has a direct biological function, disease association, or acts as a therapeutic target. The functional 7SL RNA gene is associated with SRP and involved in protein targeting, but this pseudogene itself is not expressed or functionally relevant in therapeutic contexts[1][5].
