Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 341, pseudogene (RN7SL341P) is a processed pseudogene located in the human genome and belongs to the 7SL RNA family. While the functional 7SL RNA forms the essential RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which mediates the co-translational insertion of secretory and membrane proteins, RN7SL pseudogenes such as RN7SL341P are non-functional genetic elements. Most 7SL-related sequences in the human genome are truncated, non-expressed, and arise from reverse transcription of 7SL RNA and integration into new genomic sites. There is no evidence for RN7SL341P expression or function, and it is not considered a receptor, enzyme, or other conventional therapeutic target[4][5].
