Broadly, pseudogenes of the 7SL RNA family originate from genomic incorporation of reverse-transcribed RNA sequences rather than gene duplication, resulting in nonfunctional diversity across the genome[5]. Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL375P, are considered biologically inert, though some pseudogenes in other families may participate in regulatory RNA functions[4][6].
