RN7SL45P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 45, pseudogene) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes like RN7SL45P are remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and exhibit sequence homology to functional genes—in this case, to the 7SL RNA, which plays a key role in the signal recognition particle, mediating protein targeting to cellular membranes[4][7]. RN7SL45P, however, is nonfunctional, generally not transcribed or translated, and does not produce a functional RNA or protein product. It is not involved in recognized biological processes, disease mechanisms, or drug interactions, and is not considered a receptor, enzyme, or other actionable molecular target. Pseudogenes may rarely have regulatory effects, but no such function is documented for RN7SL45P. They can complicate genomic analyses due to sequence similarity with functional genes[4][7].
