Overview

RN7SL464P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 464, pseudogene) is a human non-coding pseudogene belonging to a large family of 7SL RNA-derived pseudogenes. The majority of these sequences in the genome are non-functional remnants thought to arise from reverse transcription of 7SL RNA, resulting in sequence copies that do not produce functional RNAs or proteins[6][3][7][5]. No evidence exists that RN7SL464P has biological activity, participates in disease, or can be targeted therapeutically. It is not known to interact with drugs, participate in signaling, or serve as a biomarker. Pseudogenes like RN7SL464P sometimes complicate genetic assays due to sequence similarity with corresponding functional genes, but do not themselves encode active molecules[6][3][4][10].
