RN7SL515P is a human pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA, which is a noncoding RNA integral to the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex. Unlike the functional 7SL RNA, which is involved in targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[1][3], RN7SL515P is a processed pseudogene, meaning it is a non-functional copy that results from reverse transcription and integration back into the genome[5]. The majority of 7SL-like sequences in the genome are truncated and do not produce functional RNA. Pseudogenes such as RN7SL515P may occasionally be transcribed and could theoretically act as miRNA sponges or regulators, but there is no evidence to support a specific function or disease relevance for this pseudogene[2][4][5].
