Target intelligence / Profile preview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 563, pseudogene (RN7SL563P)

Target
RN7SL563P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, noncoding RNA, processed pseudogene
01

Overview

RN7SL563P is a human pseudogene related to the functional 7SL RNA, which is an essential component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in protein targeting to membranes. Like other 7SL pseudogenes, RN7SL563P is a truncated reverse transcription-derived genomic copy of 7SL RNA, dispersed in the genome and generally not expressed at detectable levels. Pseudogenes such as RN7SL563P can sometimes produce noncoding RNAs with potential regulatory activity, but no direct function has been attributed to this locus. Unlike the functional 7SL RNA, which participates in protein translocation and may influence cell translation or p53 signaling in cancer, RN7SL563P is not therapeutically actionable and lacks established biological or disease associations.

Other names

Mechanism of action

Not applicable; no known drugs or direct mechanism of action

03

Biological functions

May produce small RNAs (sRNAs) or noncoding transcriptsMay act as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) or microRNA sponge, potentially weakly regulating parental gene expressionNo canonical biological function established
04

Disease associations

None established for RN7SL563P specificallyNo evidence for involvement in cancer, inflammation, infection, or other diseases
05

Safety considerations

None. As a pseudogene, RN7SL563P poses no known safety concerns or therapeutic challenges
06

Interacting drugs

None known or reported. Pseudogenes, including RN7SL563P, are not conventional drug targets
07

Biomarkers

None. RN7SL563P is not used as a clinical biomarker for patient selection or efficacy monitoring
